Celestial colouring in the South Downs National Park
We came back to the South Downs National Park for our second year of celebrating at the Dark Skies Festival.
Hundreds of people enjoyed colouring one of our canvasses, which had Maria's Solar System design. It shows the planets, including the hypothetical Planet X, along with the Hubble Telescope, International Space Station, satellites and the Mars Rover.
In 2016 The South Downs National Park became an International Dark Sky Reserve known for its exceptional night skies and protection of the nocturnal environment. We loved seeing this photo by Les Hunt that was taken in The South Downs.
