A Colouring In At Action For Children

Wall Mural commission for charity Action for Children

One of our favourite ever commissions, an extra large colouring in canvas created for a group of young people at the charity Action For Children. Take a look to see how they coloured it in.

To begin the process we ran a workshop with the group of young people. Together we looked at lots of themes like street art, wall art, murals, composition and colour theory amongst others. From this session the young people created a concept for the final design, after they approved our draft we hand illustrated the design onto an enormous canvas. Here are the young people colouring it in:

The tree in the centre of the design conveys the young people's strength, it's leaves made from hundreds of hands signify working together and the rocket launched from the mind demonstrates the power of an idea and positive mental attitude.

It was really great working with Maria. She listened to all the young people's ideas and helped them produce a great piece of work that is admired by everyone, and that the young people can take ownership of and be proud of.
